After studying at Tokyo College of Music High School and graduating from the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, Hiroshi Watanabe began his career as a DJ and producer in mid-1990s New York.

Over the course of his career, he has built a global audience as an electronic musician, DJ, and photographer. Through his KAITO moniker, he has released acclaimed works for Germany’s iconic Kompakt label, while his works under his own name have appeared on influential imprints such as Transmat.

Known worldwide for his delicate synthesis, rich melodies, and intricate beatcraft, Watanabe’s work bridges electronic music, ambient composition, and visual expression, exploring the relationship between sound, space, and perception.
