Primary Mystical Experience

Inspired from a young age by the magical qualities of nature and the inherent mystical formation of emergent life on Planet Earth, Jared Marshall aka Primary Mystical Experience, explores the sonic aspect of our experience as an engineer and performer. His music is a practice of divine gratitude intended as an interactive gesture to - and connection with - the present moment.

An equally prolific producer and performer, PME has always naturally been drawn to boundary-expanding music and art that reaches beyond entertainment and accesses spiritual realms through a combination of intentionality and training.

With a concentration on drumset and synthesizers in an improvisatory context, PME weaves together tapestries of sound and rhythmic shapes to create an immersive and ecstatic environment useful for communal healing and exploration through the wonder of sound and frequency. His productions are wide-ranging covering experimental ambient, hip-hop mixtapes, improvised spiritual jazz, and more.

This same mythology is employed in the studio and recordings are always approached with limitless creativity and an openness to play with and manipulate any and every sound resulting in a new offering upon each time diving in. Inspired by the likes of Teo Macero, 90’s R&B, and Sun Ra equally as much as Tony Williams, Tangerine Dream, Knxledge, and Joe Zawinul. He has shared the stage with incredible talents such as Akira Sakata, Mike Watt, Justin Brown (Thundercat), Chiquita Magic (Knower), Dolphin Hyperspace, Dustin Wong, Lisa Cameron, Max Jaffe, Disasterpeace, Greg Saunier, Jonathan Horne, and Brazilian Girls to name a few. His recordings have been released in London and Japan and his work has been featured by Red Bull as well as in the 2024 film “Riff Raff” starring Bill Murray.

In addition to PME, his current live performance vehicle is Galecstasy, a direct and overall cosmic connection with Raquel Bell.
