Stegonaute

Stegonaute is a French musician and producer based in the Vercors Mountains, known for crafting immersive, atmospheric soundscapes that blend nostalgia with experimentation. Drawing heavily on vintage technology, he utilizes old tape recorders, cassette players, tape loops, and analog synthesizers to create music that ranges from peaceful, cinematic ambiance to darker, more abrasive textures.

His creative process is deeply rooted in tactile exploration—turning obsolete gear like the Redson EC25’s "repetition" knob into instruments in their own right. Beyond his solo work, Stegonaute is a multi-instrumentalist (bass, guitar, piano) and active collaborator in projects such as Northern Tape, Infinite Arcade, and Worry Party, each expanding on his interest in texture, repetition, and mood-driven composition.
