Sunhaus

Marcus Skinner is an Australian composer, sound artist, and instrument builder working between Thailand and Australia. Under the moniker Sunhaus, his practice sits at the intersection of minimal electronic music, generative composition, and sculptural instrument design. Rooted in a deep commitment to process, Sunhaus creates bespoke, hand-built synthesizers, primitive solar-powered sound devices, and effects units, that function equally as sonic instruments and artistic objects. These constructions form the nucleus of his sound work: explorations in process, minimal form, and the poetics of patterns and unpredictability.
